Liberal Democrats Call By-Election
City of Durham Liberal Democrats have called for a by-election to be held
in Pelaw ward following the death of Councillor James Fearon. Pelaw resident
and Liberal Democrat campaigner Paul Leake said, "Pelaw ward cannot be left
badly underrepresented until the next local elections. We need a new
Councillor who will fight for our area in the Town Hall and work for all its
residents". Pelaw ward includes the Sherburn Road estate, Young Street and
Edge Court. The by-election will probably be held in mid December.
